#WDW - Mindful Movements with Keena Alexander

Keena Alexander began her yoga teaching journey in 2013. She needed peace of mind and desperately wanted a change after years of suffering from severe depression following the birth of her children and struggling to find a good work/life balance. Keena wanted to take a more holistic approach to her healing, so her therapist suggested meditation and yoga. She had practiced yoga on and off since 2005 while only focusing on the physical attributes. She was surprised to hear that yoga also helped with mental challenges. Through the help of attending classes and workshops at a yoga studio near her home, she developed a daily practice and was able to decrease her stress level and increase behavioral awareness without medication. She loved the feeling of empowerment she gained from her yoga practice and studies, she decided to start sharing the gift of yoga by becoming a teacher in 2015.
Keena is an avid runner and is married with two little yogis, Ella, 4 and Devynn 8.
